Rare cases of life-threatening inflammation of the pancreas have occurred with the use of Depakote ER Extended-Release Tablets. Call your doctor immediately if you notice any stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, or loss of appetite.  Patients taking Depakote  Extended-Release Tablets are noticed with threatening liver failure. Children younger than 2 years old are at increased risk. Studies proved that Depakote Extended-Release Tablets can cause severe birth defects if it is used during pregnancy.

Use of Depakote ER Extended-Release Tablets:

Depakote ER Tablets are mainly used to treat the manic phase of bipolar disorder (manic-depressive illness), and prevent migraine headaches. It may also be used for other conditions. Depakote ER Extended-Release Tablets are an anticonvulsant. Depakote ER Tablets helps by reducing or preventing the number of seizures by controlling the abnormal activity of nerve impulses in the brain and central nervous system.
